🏆 The Howlin’ Wolf Wins Best Savory Beignet at Beignet Fest 2022
When it comes to soul food with a bold twist, The Howlin’ Wolf doesn’t just serve it — we own it. That’s why we were proud (and hungry) when our signature Bacon Cheddar Beignets with Chipotle Crema took home Best Savory Beignet at the 2022 Beignet Fest in New Orleans!
Held every year in celebration of the city’s most iconic fried treat, Beignet Fest draws thousands of locals, foodies, and chefs for a day of powdered sugar, wild flavor combos, and serious competition. But in a sea of sweets and savories, it was our golden, crispy, cheesy bacon-laced beignets that had the judges and the crowd howling for more.
🧀 The Beignets That Brought It Home
Made in-house at The Den, these beauties aren’t your traditional beignets. We combined sharp cheddar, crispy bacon bits, and our signature seasoning into a light, fluffy batter, fried it to perfection, and drizzled it with a smoky chipotle crema.
The result? A savory explosion of crunch, cream, and crave that stood out among top competitors, including incredible dishes from vendors like:
@sweetlegacynola – Famous for their fried chicken and beignets with honey pecan glaze
@anyocajun504 – Rocking crawfish and corn beignets with full Cajun flair
And while every plate brought the heat, The Wolf walked away with the win.
